Shock Munch Is Getting A Makeover! Kieran, the pets, and I will be living upstairs while our kitchen and hardwood floors get refinished. During that time I’m going to focus all my efforts reworking this website. I should get back to posting recipes in 1-2 weeks.
You guys, it’s finally happening. Wait for it. Waaaait for it. The work on our scummy kitchen floor starts next week! We tore down the wall between our kitchen and dining room May 2016. Since then we’ve lived with a giant hole in the floor between the two rooms. To add insult to injury, our decrepit 1938 vinyl kitchen floor is a massive eyesore. Do you know how some folks follow the 5-secondĀ rule when they drop food on the floor? Not me. Not on my kitchen floor. If any food falls to the ground I put on my hazmat suit before picking it up with tongs. BLEH!
I’m afraid the janky floor will give me old-timey diseases so I don’t dare walk around barefoot. A call came in saying our hexagon tile has arrived, so work to retile the floor should start this coming Monday! I get it now when girls can’t even. I can’t even tell you how excited I am to have new flooring.
My feeling of excitement is coupled with feelings of anxiety. Kieran and I are responsible for removing the sink, appliances, and cabinets from the kitchen. Straight up – our kitchen sink is a beast. Then we have to ready the office, living room, dining room, and staircase because those floors are being refinished too. We have a ton of work to complete in a short amount of time. My stress level is through the roof but I’m doing my best to focus on the end game – all of the hard work will be worth it in the end.
Kieran, the pets, and I will relocate to our Airbnb bedroom upstairs during the renovation. My original goal was to photograph crockpot recipes while living upstairs however, I have something else in mind. Shock Munch is getting a makeover! My website is cute but it needs an overhaul. I plan on using this time to make my website more attractive and user-friendly. This will be time well spent. I’ll be back to posting recipes in 1-2 weeks (hopefully the reno won’t take longer than that).
So, while we’re living upstairs I’m going to need a ton of crockpot recipes to see us through. If you have a good recipe, comment below!
Thanks for stopping by,
Christina
