Pumpkin Oat Spice Protein Shakes are a delicious and fun way to get the nutrients your body needs. Plus it’s August which means it’s Pumpkin Everything Eve!
Yes, I’m aware it’s August and this is a pumpkin recipe. Don’t you roll your eyes at me! August is what we die-hard pumpkin fans refer to as Pumpkin Everything Eve. OK, so maybe I just made that up, either way, I’m jonesing for some pumpkin!
Pumpkin Oat Spice Protein Shakes are a healthy and delicious way to drink your fruits and vegetables. I typically eat pre-made salads for lunch every week. Although I love salad, it’s fun to change it up once and awhile. I recently purchased protein powder and decided to make it into a “pumpkin spice” type of beverage.
I love eating my usual salad for lunch, but I’ve been craving healthy shakes and smoothies lately. And although I love smoothies, I never feel full after consuming them. I decided to try protein powder to see I could make a healthy, appetizing, and satisfying meal. This Pumpkin Oat Spice Protein Shake covers the gamut. It’s healthy, delicious, and filling!
The protein powder I purchased for this recipe was Garden Of Life Raw Organic Vanilla. This was my first protein powder experience. I was concerned the powder would taste terrible and the texture would be chalky, but I’m happy to report the powder tasted great and went down smooth. Note, this post is not sponsored by Garden Of Life. I happened to enjoy the taste but feel free to use whatever protein powder you enjoy most.
For sweetness, I added an apple and some dates that I had leftover from my energy bite recipe. You’re welcome to add maple syrup, honey, or your favorite sweetener if this recipe isn’t sweet enough for you.
In addition to your favorite sweetener, you can adapt this recipe in a magnitude of different ways. For instance, you can substitute the reduced sugar vanilla almond milk for your favorite dairy or nondairy milk. You can omit the dates and use your favorite sweetener. Another example is omitting the oats and using your favorite nuts. Tweak this recipe to your heart’s desire.
Speaking of heart’s desire, now that it’s almost September I can start consuming pumpkin everything on a regular basis. Fall, by far, is my favorite time of year. Since pumpkin season is right around the corner I wanted to celebrate with my Pumpkin Oat Spice Protein Shake. It’s a cool beverage to enjoy during the summer heat all the while getting me excited for the cool temperatures to come.
